The Fear of the Lord...

Hello!

How is everyone doing?  We are all doing great!  I will do a family update later, but I wanted to share a lesson this morning.  My Mom recently received a copy of "Draw to Learn - Proverbs" by Ray and Charlene Notgrass.  It is really neat!  For each lesson there is a Bible verse and a drawing assignment that is based on the Bible verse for that lesson.

The lesson I want to share today is based on Proverbs 1:7...

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge:
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

For this lesson the drawing assignment is to"illustrate" a beginning.  It talks about "Fearing God is the beginning of knowledge." and that it is wise to fear Him, because He is Lord of all.".

For my "beginning" I chose to do a drawing of a chick hatching.  Here it is...

I also did a drawing of a rose bud.

Well, there is the lesson I did today!  Maybe I'll share others as I go along in the book, so that ya'll can see what it is like.

Puppies!

Hello Everyone!

It has been a while since I have posted, but I am working on building it up, and fixing little things here and there.  About three weeks ago Pansy (my Sheltie) had two pups!  There is one boy and one girl.  They are sooo adorable!

The female is definitely the more dominant of the two.  She is the one on top!

Aren't they cute?!?  It is so funny to watch them playing together.

SNOW!

Hello Everyone!

How are you today?  Recently dad took several of us out for a while so that we could take some pictures of the snow, the frozen river, and the frozen falls.  It was really pretty with all of the fresh snow and we took some great pictures!

These two pictures (right above and right below) are two of my favorites.  I love the way they came out!  They almost look more like a painting then a photo.

I thought this one looked really neat with the snowy rocks, the water with the branches in it, and then the way the sky looks.

There were a whole bunch of them out in the middle of the water.

This is one of my favorites.  I like that it shows the snow, the water, and the sky.  I thought it turned out really good.

I had a lot of fun changing the way pictures are just by putting my camera down by the ground.  I thought it looked neat.

Here is another where I put my camera near the ground to get a neat view.

Here is a picture of the frozen falls.  They look really neat when they are frozen!

I was trying to get a picture of the water and the bridge, but it focused on the leaf, and I thought it looked neat so I left it that way.

I just took some more pictures of the snow and sledding the beginning of this week, so I will post some more on here soon.  Have you had much snow?  Is spring starting to come where you are?

One of My Favorite Bible Verses

Hello!

How is everyone?  I just wanted to share one of my favorite Bible verses with ya'll.  I have many favorite Bible verses but one of them is 2 Timothy 2:15.  This scripture verse says

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not
to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

  • Study means "to apply the mind to; to read and examine for the purpose of learning and understanding".  This confirms that we need to study God's Word.  We ought to strive to learn and understand His Holy Word.
  • The definition of approved is "liked; commended; shown or proved to be worthy".  We need to study the Word of God to show ourselves approved or proved to be worthy.
  • The word ashamed means "affected by shame; abashed or confused by guilt or a conviction of some criminal action or indecorous conduct, which the person is conscious must be wrong".  If we study the scriptures we won't need to be ashamed.  We are guilty, and should be ashamed if we don't study His Word.

I like 2 Timothy 2:15 because it tells us how and why we should study the scriptures.
